Sattvikabhinaya Mohiniyattam

This course introduces students to the Sattvikabhinayam of Mohiniyattam dance which includes Padam, concepts of Sthayi, Sanchari, and Satwika bhavas and Nayikabhedas according to Natyasastra and an introduction to different interpretations of Rasa Theory.

1. Broad idea about the Rasa theories
2. Familiarize students with the Viniyogas (usages) of the gestural vocabulary.
3. Introduction to the basic concepts of Sthayi, Sanchari, Satwika bhavas and Nayika
classification
4. Familiarize the repertoire system in different banis of Mohiniyattam
5. Learn a Padam in Mohiniyattam.
